Antrim to host 2018 Atlantic Challenge International Contest
Atlantic Challenge Northern Ireland have won the bid to host the 2018 Atlantic Challenge International Contest of Seamanship. In June 2016 we held a press release at Antrim Boat Club were the contest will be held in July 2018. We were joined by Dame Mary Peters who shared some words of wisdom and showed great excitement to be involved involved with the organisation. The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Council also joined and showed great enthusium for Antrim to be hosting an event like this. We had a great evening with the anouncement of the event by our Chairman, Charlie McAllister who was joined by excited past and present crew, families, friends, fellow members of Antrim Boat Club and our previous Chairman, Alistair Begg who is still greatly associated with ACNI. Thanks to great weather, a tasty BBQ was had by all to finish off the evening.
As the event draws closer we will be providing information here for crews, volunteers and spectators so keep an eye out.
